Construction Crews Strike Gas Line on East Blithedale – Road Closed
Residents are being told to stay inside as of 10 a.m., officials said.
Construction workers for the city of Mill Valley's overhaul of East Blithedale Ave. struck an unmarked gas line along the road Wednesday morning, shutting the thoroughfare down completely from Camino Alto to Sunnyside, according to Mill Valley Fire officials.
Residents have been asked to remain in their homes as a precautionary measure, and emergency crews expect to have the leak resolved in about a half hour, a press release from the city says.
The breach occurred just east of Elm and Alta Vista, and the PG&E gas line is not a high-pressure main.
