Xmas Jug Band to Cap Comedy Show at 142 Throckmorton Tuesday Night

The "acoustic folk-skiffle-swing holiday highjinks" celebrate 35th anniversary with short holiday tour.

Tuesday night’s show includes a special guest with a holiday twist, as the vaunted Christmas Jug Band is set to perform a set of its quintessential “holiday tunes and parodies of unlikely classics.”

The group is in the midst if its 35th anniversary holiday tour, a trek that dates back to Christmas Eve 1977, when and several of his “jug-headed cohorts” performed at the Old Mill Tavern.

The configuration of the band at Tuesday night’s show includes regulars , Paul Rogers, Tim Eschliman, Greg Dewey, Blake Richardson and Ken “Snakebite” Jacobs, with other musicians likely joining the fray.

The 411: The Christmas Jug Band performs after intermission of the Mark Pitta & Friends comedy show at 142 Throckmorton Theatre. Doors 7 p.m., show 8 p.m. Tickets are $20.
