Watch: Worrell, Harrison Take It to the River at Sweetwater Music Hall

Legendary Parliament-Funkadelic keyboardist teamed up with Jerry Harrison, the Mill Valley resident and former Talking Heads multi-instrumentalist, for an impromptu set.

A rabid crowd at the Sweetwater Music Hall Tuesday night found itself sitting at the strange but terribly raucous nexus of Funkadelic's cosmic grooves and the Talking Head's adventurous new wave, with a little but of the Modern Lovers throw in for good measure.

The Bernie Worrell Orchestra, fronted by the legendary Parliament-Funkadelic keyboardist, seized on an open date on their marathon tour to team up with Jerry Harrison, the Mill Valley resident and former Talking Heads multi-instrumentalist, for an impromptu set. The set featured Worrell originals and inimitable Parliament tracks like "Mothership Connection along with Talking Heads' classics like "Take Me to the River," the latter of which featured Harrison's daughter Aishlin on vocals, and even "She Cracked" by the Modern Lovers, one of Harrison's first groups.
