"We've produced Tuesday Night Comedy with Mark Pitta and Friends for over five years and have watched the series become a huge hit with audiences," said Lucy Mercer, the theater's executive director, in a statement. "The phenomenal talent of world-class comedians and material that's been seen on our stage made it a no brainer for our first CD release."

Pitta, who hawked the CD at the Comedy on the Plaza event last month, called the project a "labor of love."
