This Weekend in Mill Valley: Dec. 10-12

Winterfest returns, bringing snow, sledding and Santa, who will be popping up all over town.

If you're dreaming of a white Christmas, you'll get your wish without leaving town this weekend. After a two-year hiatus,  returns to  this Sunday, bringing with it snow, merriment and a day of holiday fun and tradition for families.

But that's not the only place where snow will fall in Mill Valley, nor is it the only place to find Santa. The Big Man has a busy schedule this weekend, popping up at numerous holiday events all around town.

The Winterfest tradition has happily returned with a snow-covered sled ramp, carols by SingersMarin, a visit from Santa, free hot chocolate, food tastings, and a surprise musical performance.

As part of the festivities,  will have  in its windows Saturday and Sunday. Maison Reve – and Santa – will host a on Saturday. On Sunday, Santa and his elf will be on hand for (and again on Dec. 19.)

If you want to get an early jump in the snow, head over to the Tamalpais Valley Community Center on Saturday. Its will begin with a reservation-only breakfast with Santa, and end with a Holly Jolly Jingles talent show and sing-a-long in the evening.

The holiday tunes keep coming on Sunday, when the perform tongue-in-cheek parodies of traditional songs at . Later that evening, 142 Throckmorton will celebrate with a special edition of A Swingin' Night at the Sands.

On Friday, the second-annual holiday celebration and fundraiser will be at 142 Throckmorton Theatre. Proceeds will benefit the theater's popular youth program, Marin Youth Performers.

Some other youthful local performers will be rocking the as part of the benefit for Haiti. The event features 15 youth bands, with musicians from 7 to 19 years old playing a variety of music, beginning with an acoustic set at 2 p.m.

Tam Valley Arts Connection's continues to showcase local artists. Others can be seen at art collaborative's exhibit in San Francisco.

French Market Antiques will host its on Saturday. And, as always, the Library welcomes families for Saturday mornings.
