This Weekend in Mill Valley

Looking for a reason to get up and go this weekend? Check out these events.

You want drama? How about a wry, Tony Award-winning tale of lessons learned? Mill Valley has both this weekend and into September, as theater dominates the slate of local events

Into the Woods, the acclaimed Stephen Sondheim musical, gets a treatment from the Marin Youth Performers, 142 Throckmorton Theatre's youth division. Director Joan Deamer helms a production that features many of her former pupils. Go here for the full story, here for more info and here to see an excerpt from a preview show earlier this month.

Further up Throckmorton Ave., Curtain Theatre is going old school with "As You Like It," the Shakespeare play it performed in its first year as part of Mill Valley's millennium celebration in 2000. As always, the Curtain's shows are free and under the redwoods in the Old Mill amphitheater. Go here for more info.
