Slideshow: Mill Valley Beautification Day 2011

Check out this Earth Day mega-slideshow of volunteers cleaning up sites all over Mill Valley, from downtown and Boyle Park to Old Mill and Mill Valley Middle. It also includes a tree planting in honor of the late Marin Supervisor Charles McGlashan.

Hundreds of Mill Valley residents with shovels, rakes, bags and gloves took to the streets, parks, schools, creeks and paths around Mill Valley to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday by picking up, planting and just plain beautifying the place we all call home.

At Boyle park, a group of volunteers with Marin ReLeaf planted 10 Bigleaf maple Trees to honor the late Mill Valley resident and Marin County Supervisor, Charles McGlashan.

Our slideshow presents only a small sample of the hardworking individuals, groups and organizations that took part in this year’s festivities.
