Slideshow: First Tuesday Art Walk

The Mill Valley Art Commission held its monthly First Tuesday Artwalk, sending art lovers on a tour of downtown shops and spaces in pursuit of the latest batch of art from local painters and photographers. The event lasts from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In a presentation to the City Council earlier this week, former commission Beverly Butler said the group had come up with a mission statement: “To promote the arts in Mill Valley by engaging, educating and entertaining residents and creating opportunities for artists to engage others.”

The commission has set dates for some its major annual events, with Comedy Night on Depot Plaza set for June 29 and the Concerts on the Plaza set for Aug. 17, 20, 24 and 27. The commission is accepting applications from musical artists for those concerts until April 30.
