Hundreds Chow Down at MV Tasting

Annual Gourmet tasting Event big draw for feats of local and regional food and wine.

More than 800 people packed into Lytton Square for the 29th annual Mill Valley Wine & Gourmet Food Tasting late last month, seizing on the chance to eat and drink treats from Mill Valley's top restaurants and gourmet food vendors from all over the Bay Area.

Balboa Cafe, Bungalow 44, Dish, Piatti, Piazza D'Angelo, Small Shed Flatbreads and Tsukiji Sushi were all on hand, as was the Tyler Florence Shop. More than 70 wineries representing Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Alexander Valley and the Pacific Northwest served wine to accompany the fare.

Late Mill Valley Market founder Jim Canepa created the event in 1981 as a way to both celebrate the downtown plaza and experience some of the best food and wine from the region.
