Homestead Valley Cancels Labor Day Weekend Music Festival

But next year will be "bigger and better than ever."

 

With its community center under construction, the Homestead Valley Community Association Board of Directors decided not to hold the annual Homestead Valley Music Festival originally scheduled for Sunday, September 1. 

But the center’s Executive Director Les Lizama said organizers intend to go all-out next year.

“However, anticipating the opening of the newly-remolded center in early 2014, plans are already moving forward to make the 2014 HV Music Festival bigger and better than ever,” he said. “So, keep those picnic baskets and dancing shoes handy.”

The long-awaited $1.2 million renovation includes upgrades to accessibility for the disabled, stairs, plumbing, heating, ventilation, electrical components, and other exterior and interior work.

The pool is open during the construction, and the center’s two largest annual programs – the swimming program and the summer day camp, continue to operate as normal.
