 2. ARTISAN CHEESE MARKETPLACE

Where/When: Sheraton Sonoma County, 745 Baywood Dr., Petaluma, Sunday 11 a.m-4 p.m.
Why Go: It’s all about the cheese. Get out of town this Sunday and sample local cheeses, wines and beers in Petaluma. Talented chefs will make magic, book authors will sign books and you might just score that amazing recipe. Save some room for a perfectly charred pizza pie. 
Pricing:  $45 adults (21+), $25 (ages 12 to 20). Ticket sales end this Friday so scoop them up while you can. There’s a limited number at the door but save yourself the disappointment and get them early.

3. QUEEN OF THE SUN: SPECIAL Q & A DISCUSSION

Where/When: Lark Theater, 549 Magnolia Ave., Larkspur Friday and Saturday 8 p.m., Tuesday  7 p.m.
Why Go:  Because this engaging film examines the plight of the bumblebee.  Did you know that in 1923, Rudolf Steiner, a scientist and social innovator predicted the collapse of the bumblebees? Watch this fascinating film, and then get ready for a panel discussion with the film’s director and local bee experts (Saturday and Tuesday) .

4. PONTICELLOS

Where/When: 142 Throckmorton Theatre, 142 Throckmorton Ave., Mill Valley, Sunday 7 pm.
Why Go: Because these aren’t your usual run-of-the-mill cellos. Putting their own spin on everything from Otis Redding to Guns and Roses, you’ll be amazed by the sounds that come out of these instruments. Oh, and the musicians that play them aren't bad either.     
Pricing: $18-$21

5. USED BOOK SUPER SALE

Where/When: National Guard Armory, 155 Madison Avenue, San Rafael, Saturday and Sunday  10-5 p.m.
Why Go: With over 35,000 books and unbelievable prices you’re bound to find some excellent writing. There’s even a silent auction on Saturday morning. What a great way to start the weekend.
Pricing: From just 25 cents to a couple of dollars.
