“Puttin’ on the Glitz” Gallery Show at O’Hanlon Center for the Arts

On Tuesday, July 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., O’Hanlon Center for the Arts will present an Open House and Reception for July’s show “Puttin’ on the Glitz” a mixed-media group show. The show runs through July 28, 2011 and will be juried by sculptural fiber artist Emily Dvorin.

In stark contrast to O’Hanlon Center’s annual June “Wabi Sabi” exhibit, we have decided to offer “Puttin’ on the Glitz,” a celebration of all things Rococo, opulent, glittered and gold!  Artists will artfully pay tribute to the glamour of their favorite Bollywood films, Lady Gaga productions, Las Vegas shows, and/or Bedazzled specialties. Entries may also be a commentary on any of the above.

Also on July 5 from 4 to 6 p.m., the Center will host a Roundtable for the Arts, where artists whose work is in the “Puttin’ on the Glitz” show will discuss issues relating to their creative processes.  The Roundtable, a monthly event sponsored by the Center, is facilitated by painter, author and OHCA member Peller Marion.
