Monday Night at the Movies: Working Girl (1988)

Tess McGill (Melanie Griffith) is a striving young secretary from Queens who is determined to reach the top of the Manhattan stock market world by hard work. But then she finds that her boss, the entitled socialite Katherine Parker, (Sigourney Weaver) has stolen one of her ideas, a proposal for a big merger. When Katherine breaks her leg skiing, she asks Tess to look after things in her absence. Tess does more than that, assuming Katherine's identity and teaming up with Jack Trainor (Harrison Ford) to pull off the merger. The two slowly fall in love, little knowing that Jack is also Katherine's boyfriend. Then Katherine returns. . . Directed by Mike Nichols.
