Into the Woods for Bread & Roses: Celebrating Strong Women of Song

Immediately following the world premier screening of the film, "Leave THEM Laughing" on Sunday October 10, The Woods Music Hall will present a special concert "Into the Woods for Bread & Roses: Celebrating Strong Women of Song" with proceeds to benefit Bread & Roses featuring a number of women, all singer-songwriter/guitarists and nationally touring recording artists, including Audrey Auld, Tracy Blackman, Megan Slankard, Gail Muldrow and Jess Chambers. The concert will be held at The Woods Music Hall walking distance of The Sequoia. Doors open at 8 pm and concert starts at 9 pm. Tickets are $20/Advance, $25/Door and will be available, along with artist updates, at www.woodsmv.com Audrey Auld www.recklessrecords.com, from Tasmania in Australia is now based in Nashville. She is a wonderful entertainer and singer-songwriter in a country/folk/Americana vein, with a great sense of humor and unique perspective. Fairfax-based Tracy Blackman www.tracyblackman.com is a
talented multi-instrumentalist who performs striking originals in a pop/folk/R&B vein with a "funky soulful flavor." Acoustic pop/rock songstress Megan Slankard www.meganslankard.com performs edgy alt/rock songs
that brim with stories. Gail Muldrow www.gailmuldrow.com is a dynamic multi-talented musician in a blues/rock/funk style. Fairfax-based, she has
performed with Sly Stone and plays unique renditions of classic songs as well as original tunes. Award-winning songstress Jess Chambers from New Zealand performs in a minimalist/folk/melodramatic popular style.
