Emma's Time Machine: Adventures in Time and Space- Benefit for Marin History Museum

Ben Burtt, award-winning writer, director, film editor, sound designer and rerecording mixer, will join his daughter Emma Burtt in presenting the premiere of Adventures in Time and Space, the latest chapter of Emma's Time Machine, their enchanting series of homemade documentaries about the history of Marin and the many changes the county has undergone over the last hundred years and longer. Narrated and hosted by Emma Burtt (now 13 years old), this travelogue of local history is a labor of love for her and her father, collecting images and footage from the community and sharing them. This chapter explores past and present images of San Anselmo and Fairfax, as well as Marin locations used for motion pictures from the silent days to Indiana Jones. Ben and Emma Burtt will also present other fascinating clips and images from Marin's history. Program approximately 90 min.

Ben Burtt has received four Academy Awards and several nominations for his sound work on the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films, as well as E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Willow and WALL-E. He is currently the editor on Red Tails, due out later this year.

This program benefits the Marin History Museum, founded in 1935 to celebrate the traditions of innovation and creativity of the people of Marin County. Through exhibitions and educational programs, the Museum inspires honor for the past, an understanding of the present, and an imagination of the future.
