A Fish Called Wanda
Diamonds, a dame and a den of thieves spark this plot. Four crooks have stolen a bunch of jewels and decide to double cross one another to take the loot solely for themselves; Otto (Kevin Kline) the red-blooded American too stupid to recognize he's stupid, Archie (John Cleese) the "sexually repressed" English gentleman lawyer; Wanda (Jamie Lee Curtis) the dame who is willing to double-cross anyone to get the diamonds; and Ken (Michael Palin) the hit-man/animal lover/severe stutterer who must kill a key witness in order to protect his boss. Written by John Cleese (of Monty Python) and Charles Crichton who also directed. Both were nominated for Oscars for Best Writing and Best Director. Kevin Kline won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
