Concerts in the Plaza Features Stellar Musical Lineup

Bring your lawn chairs and dancing shoes to the Depot Plaza in August, for the Mill Valley Art Commission's 28th Annual Summer Concert Series.

The Art Commission recently announced the bands that will playing on Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings for the concerts, which are free and open to the public.


Here's the lineup: 

Wednesday, August 14 at 6 p.m. features Mari Mack & Livin' Like Kings, a seven piece, horn-driven blues and California soul band.

On Sunday August 18 at 3 p.m. The Rusty Strings Express will take string band traditions to a whole new level with original music that ranges from sensitive and soulful, to wild and unexpected. It’s followed by Mill Valley Philharmonic orchestra playing classical tunes at 4 p.m.

Sunday August 25 features Solid Air, led by California natives Allegra Broughton and Sam Page, who have been playing American folk rock for more than 20 years at fairs, festivals clubs, concerts and coffeehouses. At 4 p.m. Todd Morgan & The Emblems will take the stage with Pop and Rock sounds. Their emphasis is not only on the music and lyrics, but also on visual performance.

The last free concert on Wednesday, August 28 at 6 p.m. brings The Hot Club of Marin to the plaza for some Gypsy Jazz.
