Sara Wasserman put her sizable Rolodex to good use once again in putting together her annual benefit concert for Casa de Milagros, the home for abandoned and orphaned children in Peru's Sacred Valley below Machu Picchu.
The benefit concert, held Thursday night at , featured Grammy-winning bassist Christian McBride, as well as a host of all-stars from Mill Valley and the Bay Area.
Bob Weir and Rob Wasserman were in the house, powering through a set laden with Grateful Dead favorites like "Friend of the Devil" and "The Other One," as was Dan Hicks, who turns 70 on Dec. 9 and was the recipient of a birthday serenade. Singers from Glide Church in San Francisco began the evening with gospel tunes.
