Artists Hope Rain Won't Dampen ICB Winter Open Studios

Annual event featuring a number of Mill Valley artists is Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 480 Gate 5 Rd. in Sausalito. This year's theme is music.

Mill Valley artists Marianne Aaronsouth and Victoria Mimiaga are among a number of Mill Valley artists featured in this weekend's musically themed ICB Winter Open Studios event in Sausalito.

Located in a historic WWII-era industrial building at 480 Gate 5 Road, the ICB lofts are home to artists working in all media, including painting, sculpture, photography, digital media, jewelry, printmaking, fiber arts and much more. Among them is Aaronsouth, an abstract painter who says her "art becomes a dreamscape with elements of both that come together, catching a moment in a story, such as a journey, discovery, communion with nature, ecstatic states, or prayer."

For Mimiaga, having a daughter who is a singer-songwriter inspired her to craft some collages using musical notes in advance of this year's show.
