Tam Farmers' Market Offers Up Healthy Afterschool Snacks While The Marine Mammal Center Raises Awareness of Plastics and Other Ocean Garbage with A Unique Art Display

Our Viewfinder spotted several youngsters enjoying healthy or mostly-healthy after-school snacks at the farmers market in Tam Valley Tuesday. Over at Whole Foods Market, we spotted a giant seal made out of garbage that had been collected from our beaches. The entangled seal sculpture is one of several pieces in the created by community artists to inspire us to rethink our use of plastics and change our habits.  More creations can be seen at the Marine Mammal Center in the Marine Headlands through Oct. 15.

Earlier this week, Mill Valley residents adopted pets at the held at the Marin County Fairgrounds and last Sunday gathered to remember the heroes and victims of 9/11 at in front of the City Hall fire station.
