Kris Allen, the winner of the eighth season of American Idol, will perform at 142 Throckmorton Theater on Monday.
Since his hit single “Live Like We’re Dying" in 2009, Allen has been playing at solo-shows across the nation, and has performed live with musicians and bands that include Maroon 5, Keith Urban, Barenaked Ladies, and Lifehouse.
Currently on tour promoting his new album "Thank You Camellia," Allen delivers with catchy pop melodies and heartfelt lyrics about love. The concert starts at 8 p.m., New York City–based singer and piano player Jillette Johnson will open the show. There’s also a pre-show meet and greet with Allen at 7 p.m.
Julian Kaelon, marketing director at 142 Throckmorton, said the theater is considering the possibility of hosting more concerts that appeal to a younger crowd, and hopes the event on Monday generates enthusiasm in the community.
