Sally MacBride Wins Mill Valley Patch's Cutest Dog Contest

Katie MacBride's Chihuahua-Terrier mix garners nearly 50 votes from 35 people, a clear indication that her network of support is vast and dedicated.

Sally MacBride, a saucy Chihuahua-Terrier mix won Mill Valley Patch's Cutest Dog Contest by a significant margin. Sally's owner Katie MacBride is the Young Adult Librarian at the and was thrilled when she heard the news.

MacBride (human) shed light on Sally's dark past and bright future.

"Sally ended up at the Oakland SPCA after being used as bait in a dog fighting ring," she says. "She was so traumatized that two families brought her back to the SPCA before she found a permanent home. She's gotten so much more comfortable and happy but she can still be very nervous and scared around new people."

Sally has been told that her celebrity look-alike is Dobby the House Elf from the popular Harry Potter franchise.

Sally loves to visit Lake Tahoe. When she's not chasing squirrels or lounging in the sun, she's avoiding Buzzy, the dog of Katie's grandmother. Buzzy has recently developed a serious crush on Sally, Katie says.

My dogs picture was not shown ! I believe this contest was totally rigged as people at Patch made their private decission . The public had no voting rights !
