Surfers and Beach Goers Enjoy the Unseasonable Sunshine

No wind, no fog, sunny and 65-degree weather called many to Marin's coast today.

Unseasonably clear skies and warm weather had dozens out enjoying the sunshine this late-January morning.

Surfers, families, dogs and photographers lined the shore of Muir Beach today, soaking in vitamin-D and watching the swells crash, as only the slightest breath of breeze blew.

Award winning artist, Nanette Biers, set up her office mid-beach, facing north to paint to coastline, "You don't get many days like this where the wind isn't blowing and the sky is clear of fog," she said, "I just had to take advantage of it."

Joan Brown, owner of Hot Diggity hotdog cart, says, "Since my business operates outside, it has been so much fun to work with this warm weather; I am selling a tons of drinks due to the sunshine," but admits, "the profits are bittersweet since we desperately need rain."

Sausalito is also seeing an un-season-like influx of visitors.

"It is definitely busier than it normally is this time of the year," explained Sausalito Visitor Center volunteer Julie Warren, "It is just so beautiful, patio dining and bike riding have seen an increase."

"We have noticed business is good right now, especially for winter," said Sausalito Bakery and Cafe chef, "We just have to enjoy what Mother Nature is giving us."

Are you embracing these spring-like conditions? Where is your favorite place to enjoy Mill Valley (or Marin for that matter)?
