Thursday, March 7

Ocean Exploration Family Farm Day, 10am-2pm, Enjoy ocean-themed activities and a hike to the tide pools. The low tide will reveal sea stars, anemones, and many other discoveries. Each family will take home a free tide pooling book specific to Northern California, Slide Ranch.

The Secret Garden, 7:30pm, a unique opportunity for audiences of all ages to see this beloved children's classic come to life as a fully staged opera, Zellerbach Hall, Berkeley.

SFJAZZ Education Family Matinees, 11am, with Lemony Snicket, Family Matinees provide a window into the exciting world of live jazz. Each one-hour matinee features live performance, audience participation, Q&A and amazing music.

Drop-In Science, Acids and bases oh my! Red cabbage juice is a natural acidity indicator. Experiment with different household chemicals to determine whether they are an acid or a base! 10:30, Randall Museum.

On the Move: Parade of Exhibits, featuring a fleet of moving trucks equipped with museum exhibits and experiences that will travel to the Embarcadero, Bayview, and Mission neighborhoods for an unforgettable event that’s part road show, part street festival, and all Exploratorium.

Kenn Adams' Adventure Theater, 11am-12pm, Comedy Improv for the Whole Family, The Randall Museum.

TEEN Marin Young Playwrights Festival, 7pm, Featuring Marin County teens acting and directing, these eight ten-minute plays, performed as staged readings, Free, Marin Theatre Company, Mill Valley.

Children’s Celebration of Ethnic Dance, Children’s dance ensembles whose communities have celebrated in festivals and music events at the Croatian American Cultural Center join to present their children dancing for the community.

St. Patrick's Day 5K Run, Kids Run starts 9:45am, Crissy Field.

Drop-In Art Making: Papercuts and Portraits, 1-3pm, combine paper-cutting and textured painting to create your own fantastic work of art, Contemporary Jewish Museum.
