Here's an entry for the "you don't see that everyday" category – a DeLorean DMC-12 – parked near the Mountain Home Inn.

Best known for its role as a time machine in the Back to the Future film trilogy, the DeLorean DMC-12 is a rare find these days.

The inimitable sports car with gull-wing doors lasted just a few years in the early 1980s, with approximately 9,000 DMC-12s made before production halted in late 1982. In 2007, about 6,500 DeLorean Motor cars were believed to still exist.

The DeLorean DMC-12 pictured above was parked in a turnout along Panoramic Hwy. near the Mountain Home Inn this week, and it piqued our interest. We've seen "DeLorean Run" events through Marin the past, with plenty of pics of small fleets of DeLoreans rolling along the coast.
