New Mill Valley Disposal Sites for Needles

Diabetics and other patients who use needles at home have three new places to safely dispose of their medical waste.

The Marin County Environmental Health Services has announced new drop-off sites for sharps and pharmaceutical disposal in Marin county.  The service is provided to facilitate the proper disposal of home-generated sharps/needles and household medications.

There are three new disposal sites for sharps in Mill Valley:  Safeway stores (1 Camino Alto and 110 Strawberry Village) and Walgreens (227 Shoreline Highway).  People who generate sharps at home can receive an approved container for FREE at any of the drop-off locations.

For more information on this program as well as all Marin county drop off locations, please access the brochure.

The Mill Valley Police Department station lobby has a medical waste container that accepts expired/unwanted prescription medications -- not sharps/needles.  Residents may access the disposal box Monday - Thursday 8 am to 5 pm and Friday 8 am to 4 pm.  The police station is located at 1 Hamilton Drive (across from Hauke Park).

Please help reduce drop-off volume:
