An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.5 was recorded near The Geysers in Sonoma County this afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The temblor was reported at 12.24 p.m. about 3 miles northwest of The Geysers, which is a geothermal area north of Healdsburg.
The earthquake had a depth of 1.3 miles, according to the USGS.
