Jazz and Climatology

Join other Southern Mariners in a lesson in climatology while listening to the sharp sounds of Band of the Golden West tonight in Sausalito.  The Jazz by the Bay series is each Friday evening through Labor Day, 6:30-8:00pm at Gabrielson Park, on the banks of Richardson Bay. The locals start dropping blankets about 5pm to secure their spots of low back chairs (8" max off ground), wine and appetizers.  By 6 pm the crowds have mostly arrived and begin the climate analysis discussion of when the coastal marine layer circling above the Sausalito hills will drop down to the water's edge and envelope the event. Amazingly, it rarely happens as the fog bank curdles and dances atop the hillside in baffling display of atmospheric resistance. A look to the south will often confirm the City has been engulfed, to the north we can see blowing fog bands in the canyons from Spring St through Tam Valley. But on this specific location below the Sausalito Banana Belt, the sun shines on the burgers and beers sold at the Rotary Club concession booth.  Kids fish for crabs on the rocky banks, visitors marvel at the views of Angel Island, Bay Bridge and SF skyline behind them and local Marinites rejoice in their residency decision. See you at the park.   Joe, REALTOR
