Winterfest is back in downtown Mill Valley this weekend, Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4. Added this year is an all-day Saturday event featuring live holiday themed music from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Listen to the Tam High String Quartet at noon followed by the Middle School Jazz Quintet at 12:45 p.m. Then it’s the Henry Moser Group followed by Larry Moss and Gabe Leis. Things start to kick in when the music director, Cole Tate hits the stage with his band, followed by the Danny Click Band coming on stage at about 4:15 p.m. The event is free, come by and say hi and stay as long as you want.
Sunday is the more traditional Winterfest day. Complimentary pasta, holiday beverages and chestnuts on an open fire from Piazza D’Angelo’s starting at noon. At 2 p.m. Santa arrives on his old Firetruck and stays until 4 p.m.
All day we are collecting toys, food and clothing for those less fortunate. The Boy Scouts are selling their beautiful wreaths. And this year, a 1200-square-foot synthetic ice skating rink, with rental skates available at no charge, compliments of your hosts, Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce, Piazza D’Angelo’s, Bank of Marin, and your local business community. A special thanks to Banana’s at Large.
Ice skating is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is on a first come first serve basis.
Both days conclude with a countdown to the tree lighting.
