VOLUNTEER FOR THE MILL VALLEY FILM FESTIVAL
The California Film Institute is proud be celebrating the 35th Mill Valley Film Festival October 4-14, 2012. Each year, the festival brings filmmakers, actors, musicians, and other guests from around the Bay Area and the world to downtown San Rafael and Mill Valley for 11 days of movie premieres, filmmaker tributes, live music, and gala events.
Be a part of this exciting festival and its milestone year by becoming an MVFF volunteer! If you are interested in volunteering, register at www.shiftboard.com/mvff. The Volunteer Orientation Day is on Saturday, September 22 at 10 AM in the Rafael Film Center at 1118 4th Street in San Rafael. ***Please note that orientation is MANDATORY for all returning and new volunteers.***
At the Mill Valley Film Festival, we need volunteers in the following areas:
THEATER OPERATIONS: ushers, ticket takers, ballot distribution
BOX OFFICE: Check IDs, locate will call tickets, provide general information for patrons
MEMBER CENTRAL: Provide CFI members and the public with information on the benefits and terms of annual membership, encourage new membership and membership renewals
OFFICE: Member mailings, data entry, online research, customer service
HOSPITALITY LOUNGE: Checking credentials, food and beverage service, guest information
SPECIAL EVENTS: Assisting with parties, filmmaker receptions, and other special events during the festival. Duties include clean-up, breakdown, bartending, ticket taking, greeting guests, and possibly some heavy lifting. (NOTE: For special events, we usually have a formal dress code.)
There will be even more volunteer opportunities as the festival approaches--so sign up online, mark your calendar with the Orientation Day (Sept. 22 @ 10 AM), and help make MVFF 35 the most memorable year yet!
