Sponsor a Child at Mathnasium

When we donate to charities we sometimes wonder how much is going to the recipient of the charity. We also wonder what exactly is the recipient receiving, who is the recipient, etc. Well now is your chance to see first hand where your generosity is going. You can sponsor a child for 3 months at Mathnasium! Mathnasium will split the costs with you.

The parent receiving sponsorship must prove they satisfy the following:
(i) be a single parent;
(ii) currently live in Mill Valley;
(iii) have a child that is currently in the 3rd, 4th or 5th grade;
(iv) have a child that is currently attending one of these Mill Valley pubic schools: Edna Maguire, Old Mill, Park, Strawberry Point or Tam Elementary; and
(iv) make under $40,000 as per the prior year's tax return.

The sponsor must do the following:
(i) pay for half the registration and assessment fee ($99);
(ii) pay for half the child's 1st month at Mathnasium ($175);
(iii) pay for half the child's 2nd month at Mathnasium ($175); and
(iv) pay for half the child's 3rd month at Mathnasium ($175).

The child receiving sponsorship will receive:
(i) 3 months of top notch math instruction;
(ii) a boost in self confidence; and
(iii) a wonderful experience that they will never forget.

The sponsor will receive:
(i) monthly updates of the child's progress from Mathnasium;
(ii) a post assessment showing exactly how much the child improved in 3 months;
(iii) satisfaction of helping a child (and parent) in Mill Valley;
(iv) the option to meet the child and parent during the enrollment process; and
(v) the option to remain anonymous.

If you are interesteded in becoming a sponsor or being the recipient please contact Scott@Mathnasium via email (MillValley@Mathnasium.com).

Note: Mathnasium is a for profit company. Any money given to Mathnasium is not considered a donation and cannot be written off on your taxes.

Note: Mathnasium can only accept a maximum of one sponsor child per month.

So wish I could be there for the Memorial Day Parade and picnic. I used to join in the fun forRead More years!

Slow and go modern roundabout intersections means less delay than a stop light or stop sign,Read More especially the other 20 hours a day people aren’t driving to or from work. Average daily delay at a signal is around 12 seconds per car. At a modern roundabout average delay is less than five seconds.

So, the traffic circles do impede traffic flow and slow motorists down. I do question why the CityRead More of M.V. decided to put a painted traffic circle at an isolated intersection like Cascade and Old Mill. There is not a high volume of traffic at that isolated intersection, and I haven't seen any reports of traffic accidents, injuries or deaths at that intersection. If people use common sense, it's real easy to figure out what to do at that intersection, even with no STOP signs. Perhaps the City of M.V. should remove the traffic circle, and do some more $tudie$. Maybe a STOP sign on Cascade Dr. would be a better solution.

I am aware of roundabouts in large cities, and also the concrete island at the library and near OldRead More Mill School. I know someone who lost his son at that location because of a speeding driver(decades ago).

I guess I can't hit the enter button because that submits the post so from now on (until they fixRead More the problem), all of my posts will be one paragraph. What Angelina did was her choice, based on the multi-billion dollar per cancer industry, and by the people that like do unnecessary surgeries to line their pockets. Ask one of those male doctors if he is willing to have his testicles removed "just in case" he might get testicular cancer in the future. I'll bet that they would laugh at anyone who proposed that question. There are many ways that people can take care of their bodies to prevent cancer, like taking vitamin D, magnesium, selenium, turmeric and many more anti-inflammatory herbs. Also diet and environmental factors play a role in the pre-disposition to get cancer. In most cases, genes only play about a 5% role in a chance of inheriting or contracting cancer. But this big business of cancer research doesn't want hear about anything else besides expensive pharmaceutical drugs and surgery, anything else would threaten their business model. This post is a test of the new Patch commenting system.

Thanks Jim W. for your reply and explaining things to us. I look forward to a new Patch where peopleRead More are more considerate of other's opinions. I hope the new filters get rid of the hacker/trolls. And by the way, if you don't port over the comments about the transgender shower sharing article that I glanced at last night, you will be doing all of us a favor !

Thanks Rico. You make great points. We had a bit of a tech glitch in that some content from earlierRead More this week did not migrate over yet to the new sites - but it'll all be there soon. And yes, we'll have more info on how to navigate the site. I'll direct you here with any specific questions for now: https://patchsupport.zendesk.com/home But if that doesn't cover it or if you'd prefer to ask me, feel free - happy to help. And that goes for anyone out there with a question about how to get around on the new site.
