The recently introduced Veronica Vanin, its Youth Exchange student from Italy, to local Rotarians, Zydeco music and city dignitaries at a BBQ at the . Veronica, who is attending , is the latest participant in this exchange program that dates back to 1929.
This year more than 8,600 students in over 60 countries are participating in the exchange, including Julia Daniel, a recent Tam High grad, who is in Sweden.
Rotary Club President Burnett Tregoning and Mayor Gary Lion presented Veronica with the key to the City. Other local officials included Vice Mayor Andy Berman, Council member Ken Wachtel, City Manager Jim McCann and County Supervisor Kate Sears. A group of young boys ages 4 to 7 who are part of the zydeco band of Performing Stars of Marin's Blues in the Schools Program entertained the guests.
