In collaboration with the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce, Evelyn Topper, member of the California Film Institute's Board of Directors announced that a record number of 24 merchants in Mill Valley participated in the 35th Mill Valley Film Festival Window Display Contest. The esteemed group of 5 judges deemed that their overall favorite was the imaginative window created by Material Grace (11 Throckmorton), and was given "The Black and White in Color Award". The judges included:

Smith Rafael Film Center (1118 Fourth Street, San Rafael), 142 Throckmorton Theatre (142 Throckmorton Avenue, Mill Valley), Century Cinema (41 Tamal Vista, Corte Madera) and other venues throughout the Bay Area.
