Tam Tennis Star Inks with San Jose State

Emily Prescott of Mill Valley signs letter of intent to play for Spartans' women's tennis team in the fall.

Emily Prescott, the MVP of the Tam High girls tennis team last fall, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for San Jose State University's women's tennis team during the 2010-11 season.

Prescott, a lefty, led the Hawks to a Marin County Athletic League Championship (MCAL) as a junior and was awarded a USTA Leaderboard medal for finishing the year as the top player in her region. She was named to the MCAL Tennis All-League first team for three straight years.

Despite losing to San Marin High's Laura Posylkin in the MCAL final in 2009, Prescott has a bright future, according to Spartans' Head Coach Anh-Dao Nguyen-Church.
